I’m sorry to have to disapoint you shee-ites, but there are no sheelas in Clonmacnoise. Why! I hear you scream, well look at them calmly and see.

1..Small figure on a 7th century arch in the Nuns Chapel a few hundred metres up the road… acrobatic rather than sheela-like. And considered to be a reminder of Dervorgilla’s sins.More

2.. Another figure is in the storeroom, but as this does not display any sex whatsoever, it is not possible to make a judgement. It came from Burgesbeg.

3..Spindly figure on the North Cross (south side) that even you will have to agree gets null point.
