Abbeylara
Abbeylara Abbey, Co. Longford.
Here you will find the gutted remains of a 13th century Cistercian Abbey. A very weathered figure, on the inside of the South wall and about 6m from the ground, can be seen and photographed with no difficulty. Various body parts have been made out although this is open to interpretation, including that it is a mother holding a child in front of her. More
