Ardfert Friary, Co. Kerry
A reference here for a 2 foot square sheela being found by James McDonnell, Co. Kerry Field Club, in 1980 and repositioned high up on the West wall of the tower. Unusually this church is Franciscan instead of the usual Cistercian connection but I have found references that they have had an influence here down through the years. More

I spent a lot of time scouring the wall for a sheela but could not see any. Locals do not know of one either. l
